History & Tradition

Continuing a long history of commitment to education by the Episcopal Church in the United States, the Vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal Church voted in 1960 to open a day school as part of its service to the community. The school opened in 1961 with 52 students, all boys.

St. Paul's is governed by an elected Board of Trustees. The school is approved by the LA State Board of Education and is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest and the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools.

St. Paul's has membership in numerous educational organizations including the National Association of Independent Schools and the National Association of Episcopal Schools. Our school has lived its mission to instill in our children strength of intellect and strength of character in a Christian environment that is positive, respectful, and familial. We encourage our students to strive to do their best, to be humane, and to appreciate the beauty of life.

St Paul's

The St. Paul’s seal represents three fundamental components of our program: character, intellect, and community.
